Heal Your Life Workshop Leader & Coach Training FAQ

In 1995 the training began as just a one week workshop leader training. In recent years, with the expansion of life coaching as a profession, it became clear that we needed to offer a new advanced program to train HYL coaches. The initial week remains the same – the HYL workshop leader training is specifically to train you to lead workshops and study groups. You receive the manuals, CDs, and handouts for leading them. The advanced level is our coach training, for working one to one. Participants in the advanced training receive another manual that is specifically for  working with individuals. The two trainings are very different. We do have some people who offer one to one workshops after the initial training. They take people through the exercises in the workshop and;/or study group manuals on an individual basis, but this is different from coaching.

It also explains clearly at the top of that page that the coaches have completed advanced training with us. Some participants in the workshop leader training have completed a coach training elsewhere, so they can do coaching, but they cannot call themselves HYL coaches.

Because of the intensive nature of the initial training, which combines amazing personal growth along with the professional training, we do not offer them together. The coaching advanced training is usually offered two to six months after the workshop leader program. Depending on location, the cost varies from $2,695 to $2,995. The coach training is a five night, four day intensive. There are per-assignments like listening to some coaching sessions Patricia has conducted and recorded.

Because this training is so in-depth emotionally we don’t offer an online version. The in-person group experience is a vital part of the training.

We actually require everyone to stay at the hotel for the week to maintain the group energy and focus on the training. We want you to have a break from our usual routine.  The training is a unique opportunity to interact with people from around the world who are like-minded, and staying at the hotel with the group facilitates that process after the official sessions end in the evening.   We have found that participants often have great interactions outside of the actual hours of the training, and these offer continuing insights into letting go of old patterns and welcoming a whole new level of well-being and abundance on every level.

For the same reasons cited above, the answer is no. The first few day of the training have a lot of emotional depth, and it really breaks the energy if you are then with someone who is not experiencing what you are. If your spouse or family members or friend want to come toward the end of the training (Friday) that is fine, and after we end on Saturday you can enjoy a few days of sightseeing with them.

The reason that we don’t have trainings in numerous locations is that the trainings are always quite international, attracting people from many countries. We have very specific requirements for the hotels we use, and there is a huge amount of preparation required for the training, so it has worked best for us to use the same hotels and locations on a yearly basis. In the US, both Orlando and San Diego are easy to fly into, and offer some sightseeing opportunities after the training.

Yes, we do have a payment plan. First, when you make your deposit of $499 by the early bird deadline, you save $400 on your balance, so it is $2,996 instead of $3,396. (Note- these prices are for 2011 only. We haven’t raised our training fee in 3 years even though all of our costs have increased. In 2012 there will be a price increase of at least $400.)
