Having
spent many years in large organisations where to get on and be noticed
I thought I had to display all the ‘male’ traits, I realised one
day that I had lost who I was as a person. Yes, I had achieved
promotions to senior positions and been well respected as a high
achiever (and well paid), but at what cost to me personally?
Like
many people I had read many books about how to lead a happier life,
but had not actually integrated any of the philosophies into my being.
It took me being diagnosed with Arthritis in my spine and warned that
I might end up in a wheelchair in 10 years time for me to take action.
From
that place I embarked on a mission to change my life and I look back
with enormous gratitude to the universe for my wake up call. Some big
decisions had to be taken including changing my relationship, my job
and my home. The biggest decision I made was changing me – by this I
actually mean re-discovering the real me who I had hidden from the
world.
My
journey of re-discovery has included many facets:
-
Physical changes - like losing 5 stone in weight, improving
my health & fitness, climbing
Mount
Kilimanjaro
and
running the London Marathon. I wanted to see what I was actually
capable of when I put my mind to it.
-
Emotional changes – clearing out all the old stuff and
actually deciding what I wanted to do with my life. Making a choice to
live rather than be a victim to an illness or worse still allowing the
illness to become me.
-
Spiritual changes – living from a place of being true to
my spirit and the laws of the universe. Learning how to integrate
knowledge into being. Training in different spiritual practices such
as meditation, energy work and becoming a Reiki Master.
Becoming
a certified Heal Your Life Teacher was a core part of my healing
process and gave me the confirmation I needed, the boost I needed and
the experience of unconditional love that I needed. From this place it
has been my mission to share all of the wonderful influences with
others, to inspire others and to help them make a positive difference
in their lives.
I
now run my own business ‘In Your Flow’ and it’s aim is to help
people find and be in their flow – that place that exists within us
where life flows with ease and anything is possible because we believe
it to be. In Your Flow works with business and corporations as well as
individuals and I am passionate about helping people live the lives
they want including when they are at work.
By
the way, the 10 years have passed by and there is no sign of a
wheelchair – in fact there is actually no longer any sign of the
arthritis either!
If I can
do it, so can you.
